DUE TO THE APATHY AND INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE OF CBEC/GOVT TOWARDS REDRESSAL OF OUR GENEUINE DEMANDS RELATING TO CAREER PROGRESSION AND OTHER ISSUES, IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO BOYCOTT EXCISE DAY CELEBRATIONS BY OUR CADRE AND A LETTER TO ABOVE EFFECT HAS BEEN WRITTEN TO THE CHAIRPERSON CBEC ON 07.20.2013 ( WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON ALL INDIA WEBSITE ).
ACCORDINGLY, THE AUTHORITIES IN CHANDIGARH ZONE HAVE BEEN APPRISED OF THE DECISION OF ALL INDIA BODY.
ALL THE MEMBERS ARE REQUESTED TO ENSURE COMPLETE BOYCOTT OF THE EXCISE DAY CELEBRATIONS IN THE ZONE TO REGISTER OUR PTOEST AND EDUCATE THE CO-MEMBERS NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY FUNCTION RELATED TO THE CELEBRATIONS IN ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT MANNER.

Revered Sir,
It is very sad and
unpleasant to say that in
view of the continuing attitude of apathy and indifference of the CBEC
and the Government of India to the appallingly poor career prospects available
to Inspectors of Central Excise and abject stagnation being faced by them for
decades , very wide disparities in promotions within and among the three
cadres of Inspectors of Central Excise/ Preventive Officers of
Customs/Examiners of Customs to the Gazetted Gr B posts and further to the Gr
A, and several other major grievances put forward by this Association from time
to time, we find no reason to join in the Central Excise Day celebrations
planned by the Department for 24.02.2013. A communication to the above effect
has already been sent by the All India Secretary General of our Association to
the Chairperson, CBEC, on 7th February, 2013.
Accordingly it is informed that all members of this Association in Chandigarh Circle
comprising of Chandigarh Zone, will be boycotting all official functions and
celebrations in connection with the upcoming Central Excise Day.
We are extremely sorry and beg that these facts may be brought to the
notice of the Chairperson, CBEC.
